Help with healthy smoothie recipes for kids?

My son has hand, foot and mouth disease right now (not as bad as it sounds, just a virus). He has some canker looking sores on the bottom of his tongue from it and won't eat (not even yogurt or applesauce or cottage cheese), but he will drink just fine. I've been making smoothies for him for meals. Right now I'm mixing yogurt with frozen strawberries and a banana. I'm going to get some blueberries. He doesn't like the seeds in raspberries and he doesn't like peanut butter. If you have any suggestions, please help!Help with healthy smoothie recipes for kids?
The best person to ask is your son, who I hope is feeling better soon. There is no rule for smoothies. I use frozen fruit to eliminate the need to use ice cream (too fattening) or ice (which never really fully breaks up completely and you're left with ice chunks). Then use yogurt (any flavor) or milk. I generally don't add sugar but you might need to for your son. Another thing I add is protein powder (vanilla flavor but you can get chocolate and strawberry) which might not be a bad idea for him as he won't obviously be getting any from meat. Have him pick his fave fruits, if you can't buy them frozen then freeze them in baggies. You really can't go wrong with any combo as all fruit tastes good to me anyways. My fave combos - mango and peach with vanilla protein powder and banana and strawberry with chocolate protein powder. Best wishes!!

Edit - Doh!!!!!! I guess go with what fruits he seems to love!!! You really can't make a bad smoothie!!!Help with healthy smoothie recipes for kids?
Try maybe mixing in some Nestle Quik either in them, either chocolate or strawberry depending on what is in them. That can help restore some other vitamins and minerals possibly, as well as encourage him to drink more as it may make it a bit sweeter and more like a treat. Either than or maybe mix in Pediasure in the smoothie. Probably better for him than the Quik, since it is better nutritionally. As for flavor, just choose fruits he likes. Hope he gets better soon!
mix about two cups of milk with one banana a little bit of chocolate syrup and some sugar. blend until everything is well combined and enjoy! its really simple to make and it has some fruit and a little dairy in it!
here's a blog that has some great smoothie recipes (Cafe Mocha Smoothie, Peach Smoothie, Watermelon Smoothie) as well as other summer recipes =]
