Need home made healthy dog recipes for small bejan yorkie???

heres a pic of her btw:http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s255/sakura_angel_45/maggie-1-1.jpg

her name is Maggie.

Anyway, my dog is neither fat nor too skinny, but I feel she should have a better and healthier diet. We have dry food for her, but my mom keeps it in a bin not closed up AT ALL and yes we do have house mice and i get worried bout that problem. My mom mixes the cat food with the dog food, same brand but still, idk if thats such a good idea. ANd my mom spoils her sooo badly, she feeds her scraps from her plate whenever maggie begs. Her health isn't that big of a problem now but i feel i should try it anyway, she doesnt like eating her dried food as much when its been uncovered for too long. We can give her a huge bowl and she will only eat like 10 pieces or less. %26gt;.%26lt; wat should we do???Need home made healthy dog recipes for small bejan yorkie???
You mom should STOP feeding her cat food, and table craps! Her health will be a BIG problem in the future if this continues even though it ';isn't that big of a problem now';.

Here is a site that will show you which dog foods are the best and the worst. I suggest that you get any one of the dog foods that are top rated.

Most of grocery store dog food formulas, like IAMS, Pedigree, Science Diet, Purina, and etc contain ';meat and bone meal'; which has been known to contain dead dogs and cats that were euthanized in animal shelters. Their bodies are picked up and bought by the truck load by ';rendering plants'; , that also pick up road kill, dead live stock, and etc. They are shredded, and boiled. They skim off the fat on the top of the ';soup'; and collected it and sell it to pet food companies as ';animal fat';, the rest of the animals' remains are crushed up, dried and sold to dog and cat food companies as meat and bone meal.

You can read more about it here.

Here is an article where the owner of a rendering plant talks about it. He says that cremating the dead shelter animals would cause pollution, and that rendering them is good.

Healthy dog food that i feed to my dog are:

small choped carrots (plain: fresh, boiled) so he won't choke on them, cooked pasta or noodles (plain), fresh fruits: sliced pair, sliced apples, sliced bananas. My dog enjoys these meals of variety. You dog should too. I tried to do more research but it doesn't show. To know more go to a local library out or in your school. I hope you find what you are looking for :)
She's a yokie. Their not gonan eat more than eleven peices at a time. If you want to give her a home recipe I recommend mixing some meats and veggies like chicken for protien and potatoes. Dogs like potatoes. Don't give her anything spicy though. That can kill them.
I would recommend trying these websites:

A raw diet is really good. You can feed one RAW chicken neck and a little bit of rice and vegetables (except for onions).
make sure she has her own bowl and keep others out of it she has a good nose and if she is like our small dog doesnt like any other smells on it

try putting drippings on the dry food like when u cook meat
find some recipes on the internet.
Eggs are recommended to feeding a dog because they have lots of protein, and some how carry nutrients that other meats can't that are good for dogs. Potatoes are great too, but as you most likely know (avoid all chocolates and spices). Chocolate in small doses can't kill a dog, but can give a dog diarrhea. Also, it can kill your dog, but dome times it just gives them major diarrhea and illness. Grains are good for dogs, they need them even though they are carnivores. My dog hates dry foods and is very picky, so I give him a diet that he likes, that gives him the nutrients and vitamins he needs in natural resources.
