Shop at a local farmers market for inexpensive produce and fruit. Buy meats, chicken and fish only when they are on sale. Shop the ads.
I also like to make casseroles. I have a great recipe for several at:

Whole grains are very healthy. I cook up a pot of brown rice and keep in the fridge and then for dinner I make it anyway I want (mexican, garlic %26amp; olive oil, chinese)
I also love veggies. Fresh can be kinda spendy, so I eat canned ones or frozen ones.
I also love beans. I will cook up a crockpot full of dry black beans and eat them throughout the week.
Tortilla's are pretty inexpensive also. And you can make burritoes or stuff them w/chicken breasts (frozen chicken breasts are pretty cheap). How to eat healthy and cheaply? Recipes?
Buy fresh and frozen vegetables, cheaper than canned. also buy lean proteins like chicken/turkey/lean beef. stay away from all of the prepackaged meals, the ';just add chicken'; box meals, etc. they are loaded with chemicals and fat. Fresh is best, of course a good quick option is fresh frozen veg. Load the cart up with fresh produce and you won't even have to go back in all of the other aisles except to get dried beans and brown rice...makes shopping a lot easier too
Whole wheat pasta with vegetable-filled spaghetti sauce (such as Ragu) and browned, low fat ground turkey! Costs about $5, is healthy and you can eat leftovers for a couple of days!
salads, low fat meats like pork chop tear the fat off, celery with cream cheese, tomatoes and cucumber , whole grain cereal, there all low fat and dont cost much.
